Hong Kong hosted the 15th Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK) – the flagship event in the region for business leaders, executives and government representatives to discuss and promote economic relations between Germany and Asia.
Top business and government leaders were participating in the 3-day event running at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre during Nov 3-5, 2016.
Among them were: German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel; Australia Finance Minister Mathias Cormann; Sri Lanka Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe; and Germany’s State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office Markus Ederer.
Highlights included a Ministers’ Dialogue, and panel discussions on areas such as the Future of the World Economy, Mobility and Urbanisation – Cities of the Future, Value-Driven Business Strategies and National Economic Policies.
Hong Kong’s Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Gregory So, said that as the super-connector with strong financial, professional services, logistics and trade sectors, and expertise in doing business in the region, Hong Kong is the natural partner for German businesses to expand in the Asia-Pacific region.
